Rebuilding of the prestigious World Trade Center complex in New York City is underway.
Draka was selected by the OEM elevator company handling One World Trade Center (1WTC) and, separately, the OEM handling Four World Trade Center (4WTC) to provide custom-designed elevator cables and accessories to both buildings.
The contracts entailed supplying assorted hoistway cables, standard wireway conduits and accessories, special custom-designed wireway conduits and special wire-junction/terminal boxes for 73 elevators at 1WTC and 37 elevators at 4WTC. Work on buildings 1, 4 and 7 has been completed, while work on 2WTC continues. 3WTC is scheduled to open in Spring 2018.
